Chief Justice of India (CJI) SA Bobde in a letter to the central government has recommended appointing senior-most Supreme Court Judge Justice NV Ramana as the next Chief Justice of India. Justice N V Ramana is likely to take over as the 48th Chief Justice of India on April 24th, a day after the superannuation of SA Bobde.

The world’s first ship tunnel is slated to be constructed in Norway. The construction of the engineering project is expected to begin in 2022 and get completed by 2025-26. The ship tunnel is planned to run underneath the mountains in Norway’s Stadhavet peninsula.

Indian Coast Guard (ICG) Ship ‘Vajra’ was commissioned on March 24, 2021, at Chennai by General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Defence Staff. India Coast Guard DG K Natarajan and IG S Paramesh COMCG (East) were also present on the occasion. The vessel, indigenously designed and built by Larsen and Toubro Shipbuilding Ltd in Chennai, is the sixth in series of seven Offshore Patrol Vessels. It will help enhance coastal security through its high-tech features and highly sophisticated navigation and communication systems.

In a historic mission, Russia launched 38 foreign satellites on March 22, 2021, aboard the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The satellites belonged to 18 different countries including South Korea, Japan, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Italy, and Brazil.

Indian captain Virat Kohli has become the second batsman in the history of ODI cricket to score 10,000 runs while batting at number three. He reached the feat during India’s 2nd ODI against England. Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting sits on top of the list with 12,662 runs from 330 innings.
